Verifiable · Free for farmers · Alama ya mkopo ya mkulima
Build credit from your farming — and prove it to any lender.
Most Kenyan farmers have no credit history, so banks say no. The Agrisoko Farmer Credit Score turns what you already do — grow, sell, get paid, show up — into a signed report banks, SACCOs and MFIs can verify in seconds.
For farmers
No loan history? Your trades, assets and habits still count. Build a score in 10 minutes on your phone.
For lenders
A signed, tamper-evident report with a score, band and confidence level — verified online, not on trust.
Grows with you
Every completed trade, verified ID and repaid loan raises your score and confidence. Re-assess any time.
How your score is built
Nine pillars. We publish what we assess; the exact weighting is Agrisoko's own. Nothing you cannot change is held against you — ethnicity, religion, gender and politics are never scored.
- 1
Identity & verification
Phone, National ID, selfie, M-Pesa name, location, referees.
- 2
Platform trading behaviour
Listings, completed trades, ratings, repeat buyers, disputes — verified by Agrisoko, not self-reported.
- 3
Cash-flow & sales
How much you sell, how regularly, to how many buyers, and how traceably you are paid.
- 4
Assets & production capacity
Land and tenure, water, storage, livestock, equipment, input access.
- 5
Credit history & obligations
Loans taken and repaid, current obligations, CRB status, guarantor history.
- 6
Financial behaviour & judgment
Savings, records, insurance, and how you handle a failed season or a price crash.
- 7
Social capital & stability
Years farming, chamas and cooperatives, guarantees, other income.
- 8
Agronomic & climate risk
Commodities, rain dependence, past losses, certified inputs, extension advice.
- 9
Economic judgment
Short choices and sums: today versus next season, how you treat risk, and whether you read the cost of credit correctly.

Confidence: how much to believe the number
Every report shows a confidence level — Verified, High, Medium or Low — based on how much of the score rests on evidence Agrisoko has verified, and how consistent your answers are. A 760 at Verified is not a 760 at Low, and lenders see both.
- Verify your National ID and selfie
- Complete trades through Agrisoko
- Add referees who can vouch for you
- Share 6 months of M-Pesa statements
Lenders: verify a report in seconds
Enter the verification code printed on the report (or scan its QR). You will see a signed, masked summary straight from Agrisoko — score, band, confidence, issue and expiry dates, and whether the report is still valid.
- Cryptographically signed — an altered report will not verify
- QR + 12-character code on every report
- Masked: no phone number, ID or answers are shown
Codes look like ABCD-EFGH-JKLM. Reports are valid for 90 days from issue.
Questions farmers and lenders ask
What is the Agrisoko Farmer Credit Score?
An alternative-data credit assessment for Kenyan farmers. It combines your answers to a short questionnaire with your verified activity on the Agrisoko platform — listings, completed trades, ratings and payments — to produce a score from 300 to 900, a confidence level, and a signed report lenders can verify online.
Is it a CRB report?
No. It is not a Credit Reference Bureau report and not a lending decision. It complements a CRB check by showing what formal credit history cannot: how you actually farm and trade. Lenders use it alongside their own assessment.
I have never taken a loan. Can I still get a score?
Yes — that is exactly who it is for. Your trading record, assets, savings habits and the way you plan for a bad season all count, so a farmer with no loan history can still build a strong score.
How do banks and SACCOs verify my report?
Every report carries a unique verification code and a QR code. A lender enters the code on Agrisoko's verification page and sees a signed, masked summary — score, band, confidence, issue and expiry dates — straight from Agrisoko. A report that has been altered will not verify.
What does the confidence level mean?
How much of your score rests on verified evidence rather than self-report, and how consistent your answers are. Verify your ID, add referees, complete trades on Agrisoko or share M-Pesa statements to raise it. A lender sees both the score and the confidence.
How long is a report valid?
90 days. You can re-assess at any time as your record grows, and your history is kept so you can show progress.
What about my data?
You give explicit consent before any report is generated, in line with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019. You can view, correct, re-assess or withdraw at any time; withdrawing revokes your active report. The verification page never shows your phone number, ID or answers.
Does it cost anything?
Building your score is free for farmers on Agrisoko.
I am new to Agrisoko. Can I still get a report?
Yes. Anyone with an Agrisoko account can complete the assessment. If we do not yet hold enough verified evidence about you, your report is issued as a conditional report: it carries a score and lists exactly what would make it a full report, such as identity verification, statements or completed trades.
Can the questions be gamed?
They are designed not to be. Each sitting sees its own order and framing of the questions, the same facts are asked in more than one way, some items have no single right answer, and how you answer is read alongside what you answer. Inconsistent or rushed sittings lower the confidence of the report, and a copied answer key does not map onto another sitting.
The Agrisoko Farmer Credit Score is an alternative-data assessment based on information provided by the farmer and activity verified on the Agrisoko platform. It is not a Credit Reference Bureau report and is not a lending decision. Lenders should use it alongside their own assessment. Data is processed with your explicit consent under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.
